About
Hi, my name is Simon. I started this blog both to practice my web design skills (feel free to admire my hack of a popular WordPress theme – lots of neato CSS and PHP coding involved), and to let my friends know what I’m doing in the bad ol’ wide world. No sneaky ulterior motives involved, as I gave up trying to impress girls when I got married more than 10 years ago. Honest.
Professionally I’ve been many things – soldier, sailor, ti… photographer, reporter, translator, proofreader, editor. None of these things were quite what I was looking for, so I decided to go with architecture, which is another thing I’ve been interested in pretty much as long as I can remember (which unfortunately isn’t all that far back, though I like to think memory loss just makes me feel younger).
You can see some of my architectural exploits (and other things) here. I also have a gallery of my older work here. Enjoy.
That’s about it as far as I’m concerned. Last but not least, there’s my family – Margo and the kids. Eryk is interested in robots, soldiers and battles, while Maia prefers ponies, mermaids and princesses, and is a budding fashion designer to boot.
